Medication, meditation, herbal tea, tequila and beer, nothing works. I'm still dying from my allergies. One good thing, there are no more bags under my eyes... mostly because my eyes are now red and swollen! And I don't know how I've managed but I still have a runny nose. I should have run out of mucous days ago, but nope, its still flowing! Whats the world's record for sneezing? I think I've surpassed 200x in a single day. I'm already at 11x today and its not even 8am.
I'm willing to bet if a test was done on the inside of my nose, it would be discovered that I have little to no membrane lining the nasal passages, having eroded years ago from chronic sneezing and sniffling due to severe allergic reaction to the state of Colorado. My nose hurts so bad I don't even want to touch it yet it runs like that of a snot-nosed kid. I don't dare take any more pills, my body is already buzzing so bad that I can feel the hair growing on my arms! If only there were something to stop the running, the dripping... like tampons for the nose...
All I can say is that having a terminal case of hayfever is one of the worst ways for an other wise healthy adult to die. Its slow, its agonizing, its itchy and runny, its sneezy and its just down right miserable! I'd drink myself into a drunken stupor to forget about my pain, but I'm allergic to alcohol as well and would break out with the hives. (which might be the lessor of two evils and definitely worth considering as an option). All I can do is stand by my window, gazing out at world as it blossoms in the spring sun, and pray for the winter! Let it snow, let it snow, let it SNOW!

I know how you feel...I did my time with hayfever here in the northeast when I was a kid! Eventually outgrew my allergy...thank heavens!
I suffer from bad pollen allergies and no one can understand why I love the snow and winter so much.
May be you should take up ice skating or hockey, hanging out in a skating rink all summer beats having to deal with the allergies that come with it.
That photo is great! Puts into picture the extent of your suffering...the tequila and beer sounds best to me. I'm sniffling too not quite the extent of yours but you get real tired of it real fast....adult onset allergies YUCK...I don't Wanna grow up...Sandi
So sorry to see that you are still suffering so with your allergies. I can relate. My husband and I suffer with them also. Though not as bad as you do. I hope you find some relief soon.

I kinda know what you mean, I also have allergies, but mine are of the stuffy head congestion kind. Do feel better.......don't take this personal, but this particular entry made me laugh so hard, you do make my day. I have had my laugh for the day. Seriously, I do hope they clear up. Here where I am (Lancaster,CA)where it's very windy in the desert lately, I have my on and off days.

My kids both suffered and suffered and suffered with their allergies....until we found the perfect medication -- Zyrtec (you need an Rx for it). None of the other ones worked for them and we tried many, both OTC and Rx's. If you aren't already taking something, that might be the end to needless suffering for you...
Good luck and Gesundheit!

OMG Dorn ... you got a nose like mine!!! Welcome to allergy haven ... I've had these since early childhood!!! I thought it was allergies to pine pollen all these years ... possibly it was, but what it really was, was CAT allergies. So, sent Secret packing with Charles and Shawny, and guess what .... my allergies got WORSE!!! Go figure ... good thing you moved away from the islands, but then again, maybe the salt air would counteract .. dream on, right?
