RANDOMOUS (relax, its not a real word)

Its raining.  Rain is good, we need the moisture.  Besides, it sounds so soothing against the roof top.  AND... it is washing that dang pollen away.

The rain has made me feel all melancholy so I've been poking through old files and pictures.  Can't believe how much weight I've put on in the past 12 years.  Ugh!  This isn't the most I've ever weighed, but I'm not pregnant now so that thought offers little comfort.

And my hair... my once thick, rich brown hair with glints of copper and bronze... now hangs limp and dark streaked at an alarming occurrence by thick wiry white hair.  Why couldn't it be gray hair?  Lots of people get gray hair.  Isn't it supposed to go from dark to gray and then to white... gradually?  What happened here?  I went straight to white.  And those suckers are fricken LONG!  Its as if I go to bed and overnight 20 more fully grown hairs turn pure white...poof! Just like that!  No little tiny hair that gradually grows in, giving me time to get used to it.  Nope, POOF!  There it is!  White!  At this rate I shall be looking like Rip Van Winkle in about  6 months.

Miss Clairol, take me away!

What do you think, maybe auburn?  Or blonde!  I hear they have more fun.

Wait, if I dye my hair am I supposed to do my eye brows as well so that they match?  Yes, I have whites in them too, grrrrr!  Heck, I'd probably see white hair growing out of my ears if I could see in there!  Isn't growing old fun?

Actually yes, to answer my own question, growing old IS fun!  Except for maybe the first few minutes in the morning when I first wake up and my body rebels because hey, its 46 years old!  But a quick purge and deflation, a splash of cold water on my face, a swish of Crest and a shot of Folgers and I'm ready to go!

Did you know that if you eat breakfast every day you better your odds of living to the rip old age of 100 years!  I think I'm going to have to start leaving some breakfast out for Dickidoo each morning.  What fun it would be to harass his ass for 54 more years!

I think growing old is fun! It kinda helps to have someone your growing old with to torment though LOL! As for letting the hair go gray, white........I was cursed with a father who was pure white hair at the ripe age of 26, so as you can guess my hair started turning by the time I was 17-18. So I do dye my hair. Otherwise my age is up for guessing lol, more fun that way. (Hugs) Indigo

LOL... You make me laugh and smile!  I am blonde so, I am getting and occasional white hair... not too many yet.  But my dad is 67 and is still mostly blonde with just some white at the temples...

I am trying not to worry... but just knowing there is something in there... what ever it is... is a bit freaky!

be well,
Dawn

I've an appointment to 'blend' the white in -- I'm now wondering just how well it's going to work and just how much it's going to cost.  Doesn't matter -- I'm doin' it anyway!

too funny-at my last haircut the "stylist" suggested that I "highlight" my hair...just to cover up "somethings"...Hello...I earned every darn one of those....yeah, they are not the best thing in the world, but look at the other side-it could be coming OUT...OMG!!

Love ya Jody-

I got my hair cut on Saturday.  I was shocked to see the floor full of white hair too!  I just hope that I get my grandmother's beautiful white hair.  But I know what you mean.  Couldn't we just get some grey?
Feeling your pain,

The weather today has made me rather meloncholy, too, and I too have been going through some old pictures.  You cheered me right up, though!

I feel your pain!  I will never be gray though, I alternate between, auburn, brown and hilites in the summer.  Cant help you with the weight though I got my own fat butt to worry about...LOL  Hope you cheer up soon!

hahaha, boy can i relate.  my hair is thinning a whole lot, but the worst was the other day, while sitting in my car, brushing the little i have left, i pulled the longer hair from the back brushing it, and there was a skunk streak.........white.......omg!  when did that appear???  and it was the same length of the other long hair............which means it has been there all along, or the stupid age fairy hit me overnight.  either way..........OMG!!!

so i can relate.

Um...I had my hair dyed to go on our cruise, and yes, she dyed my eyebrows...which is not as humiliating as the "snow down under"...which remains looking like a blizzard hit down there.
