A real mom knows the birth date of all of her children. She knows all of their allergies, their likes and dislikes. She knows the date of every major illness or injury ever sustained by each child. Real moms know their child's height and weight, shoe size, and even shirt and pant sizes according to individual manufacturer's sizing. Real moms know their children's dreams and aspirations, she knows their fears and phobias. She knows what upsets each child, and she knows how to calm each one down. She can recognize her child's voice shouting 'Mom' in a crowded room full of moms. Real moms can keep track of dates for all of the ball games and band concerts and coordinate it with her own work and household schedules.
Real moms know the names of the family doctor and dentist. She knows which child gets how much medicine at what time. She knows all the names, addresses and phone numbers for all of her children's friends, as well as their parents names and work numbers.
But real moms don't know their own children's names.
"Mom~ I'm Zack, not Gabe"
"How many times have I told you not to argue with me? If I say you're Gabe then dang it, you're Gabe!"
I have 5 children. Most times I have to go through the entire roll-call before I get the right name. And those little stinkers will ignore me until I use their name, even if they know exactly who I mean.
But this real mom has a real solution.
Name tags!
Thanks Stephanie from Home in the Heartland for tagging me on this fun little project.

lol, you always crack me up, my mom used to do this, OMG iam turning into my mom...
have a great weekend, MISSY
My Gram is really bad. She's gone through my cousins names, my sister's name, and even my dog's name before she got to me one time!! What's funny is this guy was standing there and asked me about my dog's name and when I said it was the name Gram had just used he asks,"What are you supposed to do now? Fetch a frisbee in your mouth or bring her,her slippers?" -Dawn-
I do the same thing.. I have to run all the names before I get the correct one.. I'm glad I'm not alone. I don't think the name tags would work for me. I even call the cat by one of my children's names, and vice versa. Imagine a cat with a name tag on.. HA HA.. Julie :)
JO.... I know what you mean by that....... My mother will be standing in front of me talking and all of a sudden she will call me my old mans name and it so P!!!es me off when she does that Bc I dont look like him or sound like him lol and she does that alot hahaha

My mom called my sister by my name and me my sisters name all the time. Made us all laugh, for we look nothing alike.
Oh my God I'm laughing too hard. I would need the name tag glued to my forehead! For years I thought my name was San-Bar-Char....having sisters named Charlene and Barbara. I could never understand why my Mom had such a hard time with our names...then it happened to me! I looked into the mirror and dang it I'm my mother......love Sandi
I only had one child, so you would think I would be safe HA!!! Try one child and a house full of animals always up to mischief. At times I would even get her and her fathers name mixed up. Why not she was his child when she was misbehaving lol.

LOL... lol yes, we do know it all ... and yes, we call them by the wrong name because we are thinking about all of them at once ALL THE TIME!!!
GReat entry!!! Have a wonderful Easter with the family!
be well,

Great job! I love this entry. And I love your solution. I need name tags here too! lol And I only have 2 so far. I can't imagine what it would be like with 5 (though since I was little I've always said that's how many kids I want!)
Thanks for posting your thoughts on real moms.
~stephanie~

Julie
LOL I once called my son by my sisters name.
Just popped in because I haven't visited you in awhile. LOL! Real moms have good memories. Well, I had only one child, so remembering his name was no problem, and to make it easier, my husband has the same name. Well the baby is now 27, a man, about to become self-sufficient in this world. I wrote about real moms, too. Here's my entry, called real moms let go:
