WHILE I WAS OUT...

According to sources (and the date of my last posting) I haven't posted here since October 17th.  Wow!  Has it really been that long?  Well, while things may have slowed down on the Dust Bunny blog, its been the exact opposite in the House of Oompa.

First of all, the Mesa Ridge Marching Band made it to the State Marching Band Finals and competed in Fort Collins where after 3 days of competitions they placed 6th in their division.  That's one place up from last year.  Yay Pride Of Mesa Ridge!  Way to go Becca and Art!

Zack is now a licensed driver... ohhhhhhhhhh, scary!  We're still waiting to hear if and when they want him to return to Florida.  The job now comes with conditions.  He will have to cut his long flowing locks due to the nature of the job.  (heavy machinery + long hair = safety hazard).  I'm trying to act disappointed for him, but truth be known I really don't mind him being home a little longer.

Rocky dressed up as a 'J-Rocker' for Halloween.  For those of you who aren't familiar with 'J-Rock', its short for 'Japanese Rock'.  Hello Rocky, you're Okinawan!  Okinawans don't pretend to be Japanese, they just don't!

So now Rocky is an 'O-Rocker', that would be short for 'Okinawan Rocker', of course!

I guess O-Rockers have purple hair.

Gabe says 'Hey' from Baghdad.  And his maybe not so ex wrote me an email saying that she was trying to move back to Colorado with the children... and my Grandbaby.  Yay Kimmie!  I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, but its hard not to be excited by the prospect of having one of my Grandoompas living near by.  And he has brothers.... more Little Oompas!  Hehehehe.  Allthat would be missing is Little Zack and Gabe.  (heavy sigh).  Who knows, maybe one day... some day...

welcome back dorn!!!!!!!!!!  missed your postings.

i love long hair on men.  my michael has long long hair.  even when it turns grey i will love it.  but if you have to follow your dreams of paying your bills and staying alive, you have to do what you have to do.  but i have noticed that most of the american construction workers here in georgia have long hair, but keep it pulled back and in their hard hat.

i am hopeful along with you that you will get access to your grandoompas.

be blessed......

Ryan is currently getting ready to take her drivers test.  She wants to know why the books double talk so much instead of using plain English.  I said "Look....it doesn't matter as long as you pass the test..."  LOL

I wondered about the whole break up thing.  It happened so close to her giving birth and so close to him leaving.  Can you say super pregnancy hormones?!  Don't mess with a woman who has just given birth...LOL.
Hope it works out!

Yay! She's back and she's OK! I was worried about her. Tell Zack to stay home a little longer and keep Momma happy. You're probably going to be the easiest woman (he will ever know) to make happy by his mere presence. Yes, and I'd hate for him to have to lose that hair. Way to go, Mesa Ridge! Loves, Sis

Jodi, what a fun time you and your gang have been having. Isn't it so much fun having teenagers and on up that seem to get along so well and enjoy each other. That is what it is all about It even gets better when they are all married with their own children. The grandchildren are ths icing on the cake. I am finding that this is the most enjoyable period of my many years of being a parent. Bill

Your girls...and boy(s) have such beautiful hair!  It flows down their backs...always wanted long hair but my mom didn't...so what mom wanted...
Now that I have control of my destiny (he he) I just don't want to bother with it.  Congrats to the MR Marching Band!!  So if your kids are oompas, and your grandkids are grandoompas...what are you?  Praying for Gabe and all your family...
