SNOW DAY

The weather service had alerted us a couple of days in advance of the approaching winter storm so we were prepared for the blizzard when it arrived early this morning.  Any other morning the Oompas would have been looking for reasons to remain in bed, but this morning they were up as soon as it was announced on their clock radios that their school district had called a snow day.

The term 'blizzard' was a bit extreme for what we experienced in our part of town.  We got a lot of snow, with a lot of wind, but it passed quickly and the roads are already clear.  It should be in the low 50's tomorrow, and in the 60's by Saturday.  Yeah, that's my kind of winter storm.  You blink and you've missed it!

Today presented ideal weather conditions for my 'steaming gas' experiment.  Unfortunately I cannot flatulent at will and found myself completely void of gas.  I have re-generated my system with a couple of breakfast burritos but knowing my luck, production will be at its peak tomorrow morning at work when it would not be appropriate to conduct the experiment.  I guess the scientific world will just have to wait a little longer for the answer to the age old query:  Do farts steam like breath does in cold air?  (by the way, in case you ever wondered.... yes, they DO still stink in cold air!)

I'm jealous.  Beautiful snow......if it snowed here in Florida it would be a disaster..no one down here knows how to cope with even cold weather! Let alone snow.  Imagine a shaking alligator, or a pink spoonbill bird all frozen...yuck. Throw a snowball for me....Sandi

No snow here in this neck of the woods (south of Philly, PA) and I DON"T want to see it. I don't even like to say the "S" word!  LOL!!  It looks pretty- but is pain in the ass to drive around in.  If it was up to me- I'd move to florida for the winter!
Hugs,
Gina

We lived in Lakewood for awhile and I loved it.  It would snow and they would have the roads cleared and ready to go in a short amount of time.

Not fair, we don't get snow like that here in the midlands ( uk ). I'd love to have it snow like that one my son is born so I can build snowmen & teach him how to make snow angels!! Mind you all life would probably stop, we get a light sprinkling on the roads & suddenly buses can't run & trains get stuck. Hope the oompas enjoy it while its there..Vamp x

OMG, Dorn, that's so funny......the usually unrousable kids were up at first light to welcome their snow-day off from school!! As the mother of two teenagers, that tickles my funnybone.

Thanks,
:) Carol

Jody-I said yesterday that I wanted to go to CO to make some snow angels!! I live in KY presently-the talk of snow sends everyone to the grocery-bread & milk...always sold out by the time I get there. I used to live in Chicago-so I miss the snow!! Down here we get a dusting & school is closed cuz of the backroads!!

WOW.  It is still so warm here we are running around in shirtsleeves, but a sweat shirt at night (kind of like the weather we felt in Colorado in May.)  We would want to move there, but....I could not deal with snow this early....even though it is so pretty! That is more than we usually get.
