JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I KNEW IT ALL....

You were pretty safe ramming it in there. A pick up truck tire doesn't have an inner tube.
-Paul

Would you believe that I honestly thought that there was an inner tube in my tire?  Dickidoo laughed when I asked him, I guess he thought I knew.   So when did that happen?  When did they take the inner tubes out of the tires?  I'm just glad they were still around when I was growing up because I spent many a hot summer's day floating around the ocean on an over inflated, over patched rubber inner tube.

Well, I thought they still used inner tubes too!  Shows how much I pay attention when Jesse changes a tire...

tubes have not been inside tires since they started making steel belted radials.  and i think that has been at least 20 years or more.  and by the way, i take my hat off to you (well, i would if i wore one) in knowing what to do to plug one.  i can change a tire if i can get if off the wheelbase.......but since they use those air compressed wrenches, i can't get the lug nuts off usually.  that is why i invested in AAA.  they work wonders.

maybe you should get a recorder for dickidoo to speak into in the mornings, so that you can replay his speech before you drag your bones out of bed.  could work.

hoping you have a maaaaarvelous day................

Y'all are giving away your ages. The USA went over to the use of radial tires in the 1970's and with improvements in the tire beads, inner tubes had pretty much gone the way of the dodo bird by the start of the 1980's. Now only bicycles, off-road vehicles and some (only some) heavy trucks have tubes in their tires.

LOLOLOL!!  My husband works for an auto parts store.  He mentions parts and he may as well be speaking a different language to me!  I know how to do some things with my auto - changing a tire in the pouring rain was a fun one!
