GABE'S CALL, and cold turkey

Gabe called yesterday.... YAY!  He's still on schedule for his return date,  DOUBLE YAY!  He sounded so good on the phone, like he was right next door.  I wish he was.

Little Zachary is a big brother now.  No, I'm not a grandmother for the second time, although I wouldn't mind it one bit.  Little Summer Breeze is the delight of another set of grandmothers, but she's still my grand baby's little baby sister, and that makes her special to me.  Welcome to the world Little Summer. We love you!

Today is probably the coolest day of the week, its only 77 degrees.  However it is 79 degrees in the house.  I actually have to go outside to cool off, how goofy is that?  We have a swamp cooler but the only indication I have that it is even on is the rattling noise coming from the motor.  The only air blowing through it is hot air.   In the meantime I'm hoping that I am actually benefiting from all this sweating, a certain percentage of weight loss would be nice.

Ever heard the old saying 'You snooze, you miss out on the last of the Hazelnut creamer?'  Me either, until this morning.  Dickidoo let me sleep in.  I awoke bathed in the warm rays of the morning sun.  Actually in 80 minutes it would have been the afternoon sun.  I could barely believe that the clock was telling the right time.... 10:40!  At first I was grateful and I bounced out of bed full of vigor... until I reached the hall and realized that there was no fragrance of fresh brewed coffee to greet me.  A peek around the corner revealed that the Bunn-Omatic Brew-Omatic was empty.  No biggie, I know how to make coffee and was in fact in the process of doing so when I noticed the bottle of creamer partially concealed in the garbage bag.  Maybe it was an old container... I opened the fridge and I was greeted by the sound of screeching as my eyes were greeted by an empty spot where the creamer should be.  Dickidoo tried to comfort me by reminding me that I like sugar sweetened coffee... but that only served to remind me that I probably live in the only house in the country that has no sugar in it.

Its 5:49pm and I haven't had any coffee in over 30 hours.  Nobody has died or been severely injured by my hands... yet.

Wonderful Gabe news!  And congrats to Zachary on becoming a big brother.
We had a cold front move through and it feels FANTASTIC.  I hate heat and humidity.
Sorry about the creamer.  Couldn't you bribe an oopa loompa to run to the store for you?

Glad you heard from Gabe!  My hubby can't function without coffee.  He had to have 2 cups before he went out the door to work today.  ME?  I can live without it.  I prefer hot tea with french vanilla creamer any way.  I hope you get your coffee fix soon!
Hugs,
Gina
