Not really... their home is now cleaner than mine now. Nope, I didn't wait for my son to clean it, those poor little guys would have been on their way to Fishy Heaven via the toilet if I were to do that. So I've cleaned the tank and put in fresh water. After all that cleaning I'm all tuckered out. I think I need to sit back and relax for the rest of the night.

Yay the fishes are ok! And your son owes you dinner and ice cream for saving his pets.

I was just cleaning my tank...and my betta swam upstream into the filter...after I took the filter pad OUT to replace it. I didn't notice as I was getting the new pad ready. His poor fins got all ripped up from the motor and he didn't make it.
I'm consumed with guilt. To soothe myself, I bought a brand new habitrail with a cute "fancy" mouse *for my daughter*. She's my excuse to own these things. Hehehe
God is looking down from the Big Aquarium in the Sky and blessing you for caring for the Least of his Creatures.
:-)
I bet those little fishes are saying thank you. Good job. You desirve to sit and relax the rest of the night.
Have a great one.

My daughter had a fish in her room. No one would clean it's tank - GROSS! It just kept living for years. A friend of mine came to visit and took pity on the fishy. She spent a couple of hours cleaning it's tank, let the new water sit for 24 hours before putting the fish back in it. A couple of hours later the fish died. I think it liked the dirty tank better.
