UNDERSTATEMENT

I guess I've been a little distracted lately.  I didn't realize it until I was rummaging around in the bathroom closet this morning.

Two unopened packs of toilet paper were tossed carelessly on top of the mess of semi folded sheets, discarded tee shirts and other paraphernalia that had been stuffed behind the pale blue door.  8 extra rolls of toilet paper is probably not something the average American would get excited about, not even taking into account the additional 12 pack still lying on the love seat where it was carelessly tossed after a recent shopping trip, but this is the House of Loompa, where toilet paper is in high demand and practically flies off the rolls in such alarming speed that rationing has seriously been considered.

In my preoccupation I seem to have been on a subconscious TP buying spree.  Almost every trip to the store resulted in another pack of twin ply quilted softness.  We now have enough Charmin to keep the Oompas tushes squeaky clean for the next month!

Ah, who am I kidding, there is no such thing as 'enough' toilet paper in the House of Loompa!  They'll probably use up this plethora of tp in a matter of hours.

Lisa's surgery was a success and she is resting at home.  She has already been on the computer and sent me a picture of her incision.  At first I found the scar quite terrible to see, but then I was over come by its beauty.  Morbid you say?  Not at all.  To me the scar is a testament of her strength, courage and determination to defeat this disease that threatened her life.  Pink is the color chosen for Breast Cancer Survivors, but its pink steel.  Beautiful pink steel.

Mama is doing well also.  She is preparing for her 10th of 12 chemo treatments.  Her last one should be mid March.  Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all of the prayers and well wishes... again!  You folks are amazing!

Hiya Dorn......TP is hot commodity in this house, too.  I always try to get the 20 pack at BJ's.

Saying a prayer for Lisa!  Continued strength and healing.

Saying a prayer for Mama as well.

*hugs*

Even though we don't have any Oompas left in the house, my hubby still freaks if I don't have a "stash" of tp stuck somewhere...it's kinda like the gold reserve...you want to know it's there if you need it..lol...love, Sandi

LOL  Loved this entry.  I tend to lean to the OCD side when it comes to getting low on Charmin.

When the hubby and I were together, and I wanted Charmin, it would make him mad.  He'd babble something about me "wanting the best for my arse"; and grumble that his ex-wife had wanted the same.  After about the 100th time of having controlled words in the toliet paper aisle of Wal-Mart, I finally said "You're dang right I want the best for my tush.  I ask for nothing else {at the time that was a true statement}, can't you bend to me having Charmin?"  LOL  After all  we ARE speaking of a man who doesn't allow any kind of paper towels in the house other than Bounty, regular size, in white only!!!!  {This habit was passed from Mom to both her boys.}  *rolls eyes*

Good news about your sis and mom.  Will continue to pray for them.

Blessings,

Cindy

Adding to the general hysteria of the Dorn household, toilet paper hoarding.  I am dismayed. :-) ~Mary

I was wishing I would find some extra Charmin behind a door yesterday!  We had an 1/8th of a roll left.  Not good in a house with three females!
Praying for Lisa and your mom.  No one should go through what they are going through.

You didn't just hide it when you found it?  Hmm.

Prayers and hugs and good wishes to Lisa and your Mom.  Pink steel.  I like that description.  Very much.

So glad to hear your sister is doing well. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I understand about the toilet tissue. John is always telling me I have a toilet paper fetish. I can't go to the grocery store and not buy it. There are just the two of us but I have a good 2 month supply. The way I see it, you can never have too much!   Phyllis

Hi Dornbrau! I'm trying journaling again. Let's see if I finally keep up with it this time! If you feel like rummaging through, here's the address: http://journals.aol.com/glopsey/thelovebug. I can't seem to get blinkies on the thing, or backgrounds. Oh well, let's see what I can do! Is there even a message board for journals anymore, can't find it.

Have a good night!
