A LATE START

Dickidoo switched on the bedroom light this morning and rudely yanked me from my dream.  I was cross because he woke me up.  I glanced at the clock and was instantly crosser because he woke me up late!  I rushed out and woke my daughter, apologizing for being late.  She looked at her clock and flashed me a sleepy smile.  'Oh, its only 8 minutes late!'... just like that.  I wish I could wake up in a good mood... even just occasionally would be nice.  I hate waking up though.  My day would be perfect if I didn't have to start it by waking up.

Rocky is still sick, she spiked a fever last night.  She had gotten bored with laying in her bed so we let her lay on the couch and she laughed and joked with her siblings, all the while she was running a fever.  Kids are amazing.  When I am feverish, I don't want move, I don't want to talk or laugh.  I just want to lay there and be miserable.  Of course, as a mother and wife I don't often get the luxury of staying in bed and enjoying the misery of being sick.  I still have to take care of the family and cook the meals.  Now I remember why I hate being sick.  Its not that I feel bad, but that I still have to take care of things while I'm feeling bad.  Now Rocky I think will make a great mother and wife because even when she's sick with a fever, she doesn't let her illness slow her down.

Its almost 8:00 and I still haven't had a cup of coffee yet.  That is probably because I haven't made a pot yet.  My system is all haywired right now.  I better shake out of it, I've got a son coming home tomorrow!

Dorn, I read your entry yesterday on your up-coming visit...I couldn't even begin to think straight if I were in your shoes.  Have SO much fun hon'.  Oh, and the fever thing?  Wouldn't it be grand if we (moms) could arbitrarily remove/replace the mommy gene at will so WE could have couch time? ;)  C.  http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
